A new model is now open in the Kennebunk Building, unit 102. According Jennifer Chinburg of Chinburg Builders, “Furnishing a model helps people to better envision how the space will work for them. Shepard’s Cove buyers have really appreciated the decorating ideas. In fact, this is the 6th model that we've furnished because buyers get a better sense of the residence with professionally finished details and in many cases have gone ahead bought the model."
ORLANDO, FL --- In the rapidly expanding and competitive market of ‘active adult’ communities being built across the country, Shepard’s Cove on Spruce Creek, in Kittery, Maine is staking out a top spot, receiving the Silver Award for Best Active Adult Community under 150 Homes in the nation at the Best of Seniors Housing Awards during the National Association of Home Builders’ annual convention held January 9 -14th, 2006 at Disney World in Orlando.
Developer Eric Chinburg noted, “These homebuyers are purchasing more than just a home. They want activities and lifestyle amenities that appeal to them and which are included in the purchase price of their home. They also want to live among a population that shares their interests. We knew that Shepard’s Cove on Spruce Creek would attract a lot of interest among homebuyers, but it is gratifying and flattering to know that it has attracted the interest of building and design professionals who have the widest exposure to the best designed communities in the country. We’re very proud of this award.”
Shepard’s Cove broke ground in August 2003 and has been attracting homebuyers from around the country who are flocking to its quintessential New England seacoast location, luxurious amenities and breathtaking natural surroundings.
The community’s 6,100 square foot clubhouse boasts a fitness room, billiards and game room, bar and lounge, and a spectacular great room centered with a floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace. The clubhouse was designed by award-winning interior designer, Soni Christensen of Design East Interiors, Inc. in Portland, and recently was featured on the cover of a 2005 Seacoast Newspapers “Coastal Living” special edition. The community also has its own dock and boat ramp, and an 800 square foot boathouse that can house 44 kayaks a popular local sport that homeowners have embraced with enthusiasm.
